Risk Analysis with Lightweight Architecture Reviews
Software development is a complex undertaking. It involves decisions about system structure, the selection of technologies and frameworks, platform choices and monitoring strategies, as well as API design and data exchange formats. These decisions are often made implicitly, spread over long periods of time, and may originate from multiple contributors. For many development teams, it is therefore attractive to regularly reflect on the software solution together, identify risks, and assess the resulting architecture. This article provides an overview of the most important evaluation methods and discusses lightweight options in particular.
